Professional BIGbreaks:

What do you consider to be your BIGbreak?

I would have to consider joining the Army to be my BIGbreak.  It was there that I learned recording studio and film techniques, which led to getting a job in New York after my discharge, which, in turn led me to be assigned to work with a young Radio Producer named Floyd L. Peterson, which led me to join him in business, which eventually led me to my first voiceover job, which, of course, led me to all the subsequent voiceover jobs ... In short, like most people, my BIGbreak started with a tiny crack, and it came from a completely unexpected direction.

What is the best advice you've ever been given that's helped you in your chosen career?

The best advice I have ever been given regarding my chosen career came from an ancient Roman tombstone "Non Illegimati Carborundum" -- Don't let the bastards grind you down.  In short, as long as what you're doing feels right and isn't breaking any laws or hurting anybody else -- follow your dreams.  You're opinion is just as valid as the CEO of General Motors is.  If you're going to make it BIG, and I mean really BIG, you're going to do it as an individual -- in your own, distinctive way.

What do you consider to be your BIGbreak?

Turning PRO in 2006 and at age 26 and campaigning the car virtually by myself. I've learned so much about the business and what it takes to be successful out of necessity, that whenever by next BIGbreak comes, I'll have the knowledge that it takes to be unstoppable. Running with less than a fraction of the budget of my competitors, we finished #2 for the year. Not bad at all for a ROOKIE.and campaigning the car virtually by myself. What do you consider to be your BIGbreak?

I put together a presentation including samples of my product and sent it off to JCPenney. I followed up with emails and calls. My BIGbreak came when John the GMM at JcPenney let me have a test at their stores.

What is the best advice you've ever been given that's helped you in your chosen career?

Best advice has been to always return all calls and emails, follow up on every lead. This has given me a great reputation in the industry as reliable and very thorough. I have also gotten new business when I least expected it.
